Dongyeop X. Oh is an (tenured) assistant professor at Inha University and a Principal Researcher at the Research Center for Bio-Based Chemistry, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), South Korea. He also serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering at the University of Science and Technology (UST). In 2011, he earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in polymer engineering from Hanyang University, followed by a Ph.D. in environmental engineering at POSTECH in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Dong Soo Hwang. During his Ph.D., he worked as a visiting student at the University of Alberta, where he was mentored by Prof. Hongbo Zeng in molecular force analysis and rheology. He also gained expertise in biopolymer analysis through vibrational spectroscopy while working as a visiting researcher with Prof. Admir Masic at MIT.

Recently, his research has focused on developing natural nanofiber-based polymer composites to replace petrochemical high-performance plastics, materials designed to extend lifespan through self-healing properties, and recyclable plastics.
